Somerset ISD honored with national award

SAN ANTONIO - An area school district has just received a national award. 

Somerset ISD was presented with the "Tap Award of Distinction" this weekend in Los Angeles. 

The award honors school districts that successfully implement the "Tap" program, which stands for The System for Teacher and Student Advancement."

Along with the award, Somerset ISD also scored a $10,000 prize, and was the only Texas school district to receive the honor.
